Fees & Policies

Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, P.A. encourages our patients' parents or guardians to become familiar with PAMPA's office policies by reading them and asking questions. It's important to understand the policies which our practice will follow when providing care for your family.
If an urgent situation should arise during regular office hours, please call our office and someone will help you immediately. If an urgent situation should arise after hours, call any of our regular office numbers and your call will be forwarded to a Pediatric Nurse-on-Call. The nurse will return your call within one hour or, if necessary, will contact a physician to return your call. For emergencies that do not permit such call back time, dial 911 and get immediate help.

Saturday Urgent Care Hours
Our Saturday urgent care hours in Marietta are intended for ill children who cannot wait through the weekend to be seen. Patients are checked in between 8:30 am and 11:00 am, and seen on a non-appointment, first come, first serve basis, with very ill patients being seen first. No routine immunizations, lab work, or medication refills will be given on Saturday. All routine matters will be handled Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Please note that Saturday office charges are more than a weekday visit.

Prescriptions and Refills
Prescriptions and refills for medications are issued weekdays during office hours, except in emergency situations. For a routine prescription refill, please contact your pharmacy, and, if necessary, the pharmacist will call our office. For a refill of chronic or controlled medications, we ask that you give the office ten days notice to allow your doctor an opportunity to review your child's health record. Always have prescription and pharmacy numbers on hand when requesting refills. Please let us know if the patient is allergic to any medications.

Managed Care (HMO, PPO, POS, etc.) patients must present their plan identification cards when registering for each office visit. Copays and charges for non-covered services must be paid at each visit.

For patients not covered by insurance in which PAMPA participates, we require complete payment for our services at the time of the office visit. Reimbursement may be obtained from your insurer. At the time of your office visit, you will receive a charge slip which explains in detail the charges incurred. Your charge slip is accepted by most insurance companies as the "physician's statement" when you submit your claim to them. We understand that this may be difficult for families at times; therefore, our patient account representatives will be happy to discuss payment arrangements with you.

We accept cash, personal checks, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

Administrative Service Fee
In order to cover services such as vaccine records, long distance calls, school excuses, F.M.L.A. forms, insurance applications, computer generated account reports, completion of camp, school and physical forms, etc.,our practice finds it necessary to charge an annual Administrative Service Fee of $18 per patient. This annual fee is intended to cover the cost of certain administrative services we may provide which are not covered by your insurance.
Telephone Call Charge Policy
Your doctor or PNP reviews your child's medical record as needed to answer your questions. Minor issues and routine health questions are handled free of charge.

However, for significant issues involving chronic medications or complicated home or school problems, your doctor or designated nurse may make an occasional charge. Additional time and expertise are necessary to review your child's complex health records to plan for further care. Special billing codes on our office statement will explain these charges to your insurer, although not all insurers reimburse for these services.

Your family health record is in the name of the person responsible for payment. Please give us that name, in addition to the child's name when registering in the office to be seen or when asking for information about the child.

Our office is a smoke-free environment. We ask that you do not smoke on the premises.
