Pediatric Medical Research

Every day, scientists discover new information about medical conditions and treatments.  This information leads to the development of new medications, procedures and life style changes that may improve the quality of life for people all over the world.  PAMPA, in addition to providing quality primary care, is also committed to pediatric and adolescent clinical research.  Participation in these clinical trials allows PAMPA to be on the cutting edge of new medical treatments. PAMPA has participated in clinical trials for over 15 years.  By our participation in clinical trials, we have been able to offer our patients newer antibiotics, vaccines and health recommendations.

From time to time one of our providers or a member of the research staff may offer you information about a clinical trial in which PAMPA is participating.  Each study has specific requirements that must be met prior to a subject's participation. The physicians and staff will review the specifics of the study as well as explain all procedures, risks and benefits prior to your participation.  You will be given all the information needed to make an informed decision, and you will be allowed to have all your questions answered prior to your participation.  Many children of the staff and physicians at PAMPA have participated in similar clinical trials.  We do not participate in studies in which we would not be comfortable enrolling our own children.

Should you choose to participate in one of the clinical trials offered at PAMPA, your child will be carefully followed by our doctors and research staff. Study related exams, tests, study medications and vaccines are provided without cost to participants. In addition, compensation for time and travel related to the study is usually offered.
