Dear P.A.M.P.A families:

We are pleased to announce that we now offer the cervical cancer vaccine, Gardasil,  to girls age 11 years and older at their annual check-ups. Cervical cancer is the fifth most common cause of death from cancer in women.  According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention: 11,999 women in the United States were diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2005.  That year 3,924 women died from the disease.  Cervical cancer is caused by infection with the human papilloma virus, called HPV, which is transmitted during sexual contact.

Those who desire the vaccine, but have already had their annual check-ups this year should contact the office for scheduling details.
