Dear P.A.M.P.A. Families,

We are pleased to announce that we still have a supply of H1N1 nasal mist vaccine in all four of our offices and are able to offer appointments for additional age groups.

We are currently scheduling appointments with our nurses for patients of all ages who are able to take the nasal mist vaccine based on the following guidelines:

• The nasal mist vaccine is currently being offered to healthy people 2 years through 24 years of age who are not pregnant.
• Adults and children with asthma, diabetes and certain other health problems may not receive the vaccine in the nasal mist form.
• There must be a 28 day (4 week) interval between this vaccine and other live vaccines including the seasonal flu mist.

The charge for the administration of the vaccine is $21 for parents and patients for whom we do not file insurance.

We will send an additional notification when we receive the injectable seasonal and H1N1 vaccine.

During flu season, the doctors remind us that we can all take measures to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like flu by doing the following:

• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your bent arm when you cough or sneeze.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
• Use antibacterial hand gel when anyone in the household is ill.
• The ill individual should stay at home until there is no fever for 24 hours.
