Dear P.A.M.P.A. Families,

Although flu activity appears to wind down through this holiday season, it is expected that when children return to school next week many illnesses, including flu, will increase. There is still time to protect your family from the seasonal flu by receiving the vaccination.

At this time all four of our offices are able to offer injectable seasonal flu vaccine to patients and family members by appointment.

For complete information on who may safely take the influenza vaccines please read over the vaccine information statement by following this link:

Although we hear the following suggestions repeatedly during flu season, these are measures we can all take to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like flu:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your bent arm when you cough or sneeze.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
  • Use antibacterial hand gel when anyone in the household is ill.
  • The ill individual should stay at home until there is no fever for 24 hours.

Please feel free to call a staff member in your primary office with any questions and to read additional information on influenza disease and vaccines on the C.D.C. website at www.cdc.gov
