Important Information to Know Before Your Annual Appointment

Your pediatrician or pediatric nurse practitioner is happy to see you for your annual well visit as this visit demonstrates that you value the importance of continuity of care.  Comprehensive health supervision is an important part of your child’s care.  We are happy to address your concerns at this visit as they pertain to your child’s health and overall wellness.  Sometimes, for your convenience, we may also address other issues that require significant medical decision-making including medication management.  We are happy to accomplish these things in addition to the well visit and want you to be aware we are required to appropriately address and document this secondary issue which will be a separate visit where copays and deductibles will apply. For your insurance company, this care falls under “significant, separately identifiable evaluation and management by the same physician on the same day.”  If instead, you prefer for your provider to address the well visit or check up only, your provider can schedule a separate visit at another time to discuss your concerns .  Examples of these issues might include ADHD, Anxiety, or Depression.  Please feel free to discuss this with our office prior to your visit.

Before Your First Visit

About your visit with PAMPA Pediatrics in north Atlanta

We are so glad that you have chosen PAMPA and look forward to participating in the health care of your child. Here is some helpful information you may want to know about our practice.

Office visits are available by appointment only Monday through Friday. On Saturday morning, our Marietta office is open to see sick patients by appointment only from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.

When your child becomes ill and needs to be seen, we ask that you call as early as possible for a same day appointment. This will help us plan for all patients and lessen your waiting time in the office. Calling ahead to schedule appointments and limiting unexpected visits will greatly help us serve you and our other patients better. Our office staff is available Monday through Friday beginning at 7:45 a.m. for your convenience.

You may plan ahead and schedule your child’s well check ups in advance.

If your son or daughter is coming home from college and will need an annual check up, please call to schedule six weeks ahead to reserve your appointment. Our appointments for young adults fill up quickly. Remember we can continue to see young adults until their 22nd birthday and offer evening well check up appointments in all three of our locations to accommodate busy schedules.

We schedule appointments up to two to three months ahead of time for your convenience. We value the continuity of care you allow us to provide for your child. Scheduling your well visits in advance will better allow you to select your preferred location with your provider.

Sometimes an illness occurs on the day of a patient’s well check up visit. When this occurs, please inform our staff of your concerns so that we can attend properly to all your health needs. If a significant illness occurs, we may address the more acute concerns at your scheduled visit and reschedule your well visit for another time. We may recommend additional appointments for very complex illnesses and/or chronic health problems that require additional time to fully address your concerns.

Missed Appointments

We certainly understand that occasionally circumstances arise that prevent patients from keeping appointments. Please know that cancelled or missed appointments are a loss to everyone. The office requires a 48 hour cancellation for confirmed appointments. We will contact you if you have missed an appointment in order to reschedule at your earliest convenience. For patients that miss an appointment, a fee may be charged.
