Saturday Sick Visit Appointments

March 13, 2020

Dear PAMPA Families,

Beginning March 14, PAMPA is changing our Saturday clinic from walk-ins to scheduled visits.  Our hope is this will both increase the safety of our office to all patients during this evolving COVID-19 outbreak, and help families with planning their day. Our staff will begin answering phones at 7:45 a.m. on Saturdays to assist you in scheduling a time to be seen.

We feel this process will allow us to see our sick children in a more efficient manner, while also screening patients prior to their arrival to assure a visit to the office is appropriate. We will also utilize separate entrances and sections of our office for sick and well children s we now do on weekdays.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform our PAMPA families that we continue to closely follow the events surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. Our staff and providers have made changes to our usual routines to assure that we are not only able to care for sick children but also to protect healthy patients being seen for their routine well check-ups. We apologize in advance that some of these measures may inconvenience you during this period.

  • All of our offices are using separate sections of our office and exam rooms for well visits, including well only entrances and exits when possible.
  • We have increased our already stringent routines in cleaning procedures and, of course, always wash hands before and after every patient contact.
  • Prior to making an appointment, our schedulers may request you speak to a nurse to assure that our office is the best choice for care for your child.

Treatment for COVID-19, as with other viral illnesses, includes supportive measures such as increasing fluids, getting lots of rest and taking medication to reduce fever.  During this ongoing outbreak, we ask families keep their children home with illness until symptoms are much improved, including they can control their cough.  These measures will help us all protect our community. Please call our office if your child is having any shortness of breath, difficulty breathing or a fever for 72 hours or more.

Please note, our office is NOT able to test for the COVID-19 infection.

We will continue to make changes and recommendations that will help us to effectively provide care in this environment of rapid change. As always, our goal as your child's healthcare providers is to do our best in caring for your family and our community.
