COVID Vaccine Update
The US Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5 to 11. The vaccine is formulated at one-third the dose of the vaccine used for people ages 12 and older.
This week, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, an independent committee that gives guidance to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, voted to endorse the administration of the vaccine to children ages 5-11 years old.
PAMPA Pediatrics also supports the use of the Pfizer vaccine for our patients in the 5-11 age group. We anticipate scheduling for our vaccination clinics within a week. Please make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram and watch your email for more information. We understand that some families may want to have their children vaccinated as soon as possible. Below are links to other places offering the vaccine.
